Luxfer Magtech specializes in developing, manufacturing, and supplying a broad range of products that safeguard and protect, ranging from flameless ration heaters that give our U.S. Military a hot meal; innovative chemical response kits designed to detect and decontaminate chemical warfare agents; to nutritious hot food and beverage options for militaries and first responders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Sales Manager leads the company’s commercial sales strategy through outbound business development, pipeline growth, account expansion, and sales team leadership. This role is responsible for generating new business, growing existing customer relationships, achieving revenue objectives, developing domestic and international markets, coaching sales personnel, and providing accurate forecasting and performance reporting. As the primary commercial sales leader for competitive markets, the position operates in a highly proactive, activity-driven environment where prospecting, customer engagement, opportunity management, and execution are critical to success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead outbound commercial sales efforts across domestic and international markets.
  • Establish and maintain a high-activity, call-based sales culture focused on prospecting, customer engagement, and revenue growth.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across multiple product lines, customer segments, and geographic regions.
  • Own key commercial opportunities from initial contact through contract award and implementation.
  • Develop and execute market expansion strategies to grow existing and new customer relationships.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and account development activities.
  • Manage opportunity qualification, progression, forecasting, and reporting within Salesforce or other approved CRM systems.
  • Monitor pipeline health, sales activity, conversion rates, and performance metrics to drive achievement of sales objectives.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, forecast, and sales activity records while ensuring CRM data integrity.
  • Lead, coach, and develop junior sales personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish performance expectations, activity standards, and sales KPIs, and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
  • Support talent development and succession planning within the sales organization.
  • Develop sales forecasts, pipeline projections, performance reports, and executive-level business summaries.
  • Analyze sales trends and performance data to identify opportunities, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Support annual sales planning, target setting, budgeting, and revenue forecasting activities.
  • Partner with Marketing to convert lead-generation activities into qualified sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate with government and institutional sales functions to ensure account alignment and avoid market overlap.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Product Management to support customer requirements, product launches, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
AUTHORITY & SCOPE:
  • Responsible for commercial sales growth and revenue generation within assigned markets and territories.
  • Exercises independent judgment regarding customer engagement, opportunity development, and sales strategy execution.
  • Provides leadership and direction to developing sales personnel.
  • Maintains authority over sales pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting activities.
  • Works under general direction with significant autonomy in managing commercial opportunities and customer relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent sales and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of degree.3–5 years of experience preferred in sales operations, business analytics, commercial operations, or a related analytical role.
  • 5–8 years of progressive sales experience preferred.
  • 1–3 years of sales leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience selling commercial products in competitive market environments required.
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, defense, or related B2B industries preferred.
  • Experience developing domestic and international business opportunities preferred.
  • Strong business development and outbound sales capabilities.
  • Proven ability to build and manage sales pipelines.
  • Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM systems.
  • Strong forecasting, reporting, and sales planning skills.
  • Effective leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with a high degree of accountability and initiative.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, defense-related, or technical product sales environments.
  • Experience building or scaling outbound sales organizations.
  • Background in both new-business acquisition and account development.
  • Experience establishing sales KPIs, activity standards, and performance metrics.
  • Exposure to international sales and market expansion activities.
POSITON-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Position is primarily office-based with routine computer and telephone use.
  • Periodic domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to manufacturing and operational environments may be required.
  • Limited exposure to industrial hazards under normal working conditions.
